Beth Rutty is a Registered Yoga Teacher (500 hours) and Yoga Therapist (300 hours) who has trained in the style of Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga since 1999. In 2007, she discovered Anusara Yoga; a practice that changed her life. She trained for 400 hours and received the designation of Anusara-Inspired Yoga Teacher. In 2011, with a desire to serve in a deeper way, she completed a 300 Yoga Therapy course. She has also received a 60 hour Therapeutic Restorative Yoga Certificate and completed a 60 hour Thai Yoga Massage course. More recently she has begun to study Yoga Therapeutics with Doug Keller.

One of Beth’s hopes is to bring the healing and empowering aspects of yoga practices to more people – despite limitations or pain and to offer alternative practices of healing that will compliment traditional western methods. Yoga is for everyone! Her Gentle Yoga classes provide a yoga experience for an underserved population and her advanced classes offer an ever-growing depth for the continuing student. Whether in a chair, or on a yoga mat Beth teaches a blended style of yoga that is an exploration of inner goodness through breath and body using anatomical principles of alignment and balanced action in all poses and yoga therapy techniques..

Teacher Training and Mentorship ERYT 500
Beth has the status of ERYT 500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) through Yoga Alliance. She has been teaching in Teacher Training programs since 2009 in the Hamilton/Burlington/Oakville areas, including Heaven’s Yoga Studio in Stoney Creek (teaching Anatomy in 200 hour course), Kula Oakville (co-facilitating and teaching 200 and 300 hour courses) and Sacred Lotus Yoga Studio in Brantford (co-facilitating and teaching 200 hour course) She teaches from her heart, marrying the body, breath and mind to the attunement of infinite beauty within and all around. She encourages students to cultivate the awareness and skills to connect to their teacher within, and to live in the fullness of their embodiment. She offers the attention to detail of the Iyengar system, a focus on breath awareness as a guide from the Ashtanga system and alignment based on universal anatomical principles – concepts that every pose shares and every body can access in some way from the Anusara system. Beth encourages each Teacher Trainee to teach from the most authentic place within themselves. You can’t go wrong. Watch for a 200 Teacher Training in April 2015 in Meaford, Ontario.

How it all began....

Beth Rutty has always had a passion for life. In 2004, following a 17 year stint as a Fitness Instructor she graduated from the incredible (500 hour) Teacher Training program at The Yoga Centre of Burlington and continues to learn every day she has the opportunity to teach there.

In 2003 she completed a 4 day, 24 hour teacher training with Francois Raoult and in the Fall of 2004 travelled to Colorado to study with the amazing David Swenson, Rodney Yee and Roger Cole among others. In the Spring of 2006 she completed a 5 day teacher training with Paul Grilley on yoga of the bones and joints, which has resulted in a more compassionate approach to her students. Beth is a member of Yoga Alliance.
