YOGA TEACHER TRAINING (200 & 300 Hour Programs)

Since June of 2017 Beth has been offering a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. She will also launch a new 300 hour Continuing Education Teacher Training in the Fall of 2018. The training takes place inside and outside of her beautiful northern, country studio in Meaford, Ontario. This intimate setting provides a comfortable, safe environment for sharing, receiving and individual and group growth. You will deepen your knowledge of many aspects of yoga, and nurture the teacher that is within you. It is her hope that, together with special guest teachers from the greater yoga community, you will find your dharma - your life’s purpose.

This style of yoga is a culmination of all of the training that she has taken, including Ashtanga, Iyengar Anusara and a few other fabulous teachers (you can read about the ABOUT BETH RUTTY page). Hatha Yoga is a broad term to describe any physical postural yoga practice. Throughout the course, as we travel through the subjects of history, philosophy, anatomy, asana, breath and pranayama and meditation, my goal is that you are able to articulate what type of yoga you teach as you allow your true, authentic voice is revealed...all in a retreat-like setting.

This 200 hour program covers all of the basic needs to become a yoga teacher and then-some. The focus is not just on asana, but everything that makes up Hatha Yoga - asana, pranayama, chanting and mediation. See the Curriculum at a Glance below.

Beth Rutty teaches a blended style of yoga that is an exploration of inner goodness through breath and body using anatomical principles of alignment and balanced action in all poses. When she offers this in teacher training she is often shedding new light on the way students have seen the practices is yoga.

This 200 hour course is approved by Yoga Alliance and surpasses the number of contact hours set by them.

Beth's YTT course has been life changing. I knew there was always something more to yoga than poses. I knew I’d have a great experience,
but I didn’t realize how great it really
was going to be.

I feel this course brought me to a much
happier state of mind, gave me the confidence to be myself, and learn to drop the judgments
that I
consistently placed on myself.

I can't thank you enough for
opening your home and heart to me and for being an inspiration to me on this incredible journey. I cannot wait to share all that I have learned with my own students and carry on your passion.

200 Hour Course
300 Hour Course

The Beth Rutty School of Yoga 300 Hour Advanced Yoga Training will consist of Mandatory Immersion Modules and Elective Modules (totalling 270 contact hours) that will take a minimum of 18 months and a maximum of 36 months to complete.

The Mandatory Immersion Modules are designed to build upon and deepen your understanding of the fundamental concepts of the practice and teaching of yoga that are generally taught at a 200 hour level (which is a prerequisite). This course prepares you to teach principles and techniques of yoga that are more advanced, more detailed, and/or subtler, and the training enables you to teach with greater skill than could reasonably be expected of a RYT 200. The Mandatory Immersion Modules will consist of everything from anatomy - biomechanics and physiology, philosophy and lifestyle, intuition and energetics, movement/breath in asana - including more advanced asana and pranayama.

For the Elective Modules of the course, you can choose from the subjects that you’re inspired to learn about from some of the sampling of ones listed in the Electives Section. There will be more added with dates when determined.

Each Mandatory Immersion Module is worth 24 hours - 6 weekends (Friday-Sunday 8:30-5:30 pm), totalling 144 hours. You must complete all of these modules plus an additional 126 hours of electives to complete this 300 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Course. There will be minimum of 30 hours to complete the 300 hours.

The cost for the Mandatory Immersion Modules is $2600 (tax in) and the cost for the Elective Modules will vary depending on the presenter and the number of hours offered, but most likely will total anywhere from $2300-2800. The Elective Modules can be taken at anytime, but it is recommended that you take the Mandatory Modules in the order of offering to keep the momentum of learning. Most likely you will make deep connections with classmates taking them at the same time.

Upon registering for the course, you will be asked to pay a deposit of $800 (which is the cost for the first and last Mandatory Immersions Modules) to hold your spot. The rest will a be a pay-as-you-go plan until 6 weekends have been completed ($2600 has been paid) (each weekend $450 - vegetarian lunch incldued). The Elective Modules can be paid for as the subjects come up, with a deposit to hold your spot 1 month before the date.

If you’re interested in taking some of the Elective Modules independently of the entire 300 hour course, then just register 1 month before the start date. If you decide to complete the 300 hour course after the fact, all of the credits for the Elective Modules can be counted (retro-active up to 3 years). Those registered in the 300 hour program will get a 10% discount on the prices listed for the electives.

In order to remain in the program each registrant must take at least 4 trainings (Immersions or Electives) in each year (year based on individual start date). Each participant will commit to each year’s trainings by the anniversary date of when they began.

You may start the course at any time and take up to 4 years to complete

The electives are offered throughout the year and a sampling can also be found below.

The successful completion of the Beth Rutty School of Yoga 300 hour course will certify you with a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher designation. This is not a Yoga Alliance registered program, but you can receive Continuing Education Credits as Beth is an ERYT 500 with them. All Mandatory Immersion Modules and corresponding assignments as well as Elective Modules totalling 270 contact hours must be completed to receive a Certificate for 300 hours from the Beth Rutty School of Yoga.
